TIL-TEK Antennas announces a new technology "Multi beam "Cluster" Antenna" in the 3.4-3.7 GHz frequency.
TIL-TEK has completed initial testing of a multi-beam antenna. The antenna is targeted for use in a 24-beam base station and uses a unique antenna structure of high performance narrow beams clustered optimally for top mounting or side mounting on a tower or building. The top mount cluster is a cylindrical unit that forms 24 beams. The side mount cluster is a panel spanning 90 degrees with 6 beams, requiring 4 panels to cover 360 degrees. The antenna is targeted for use in the licensed frequency of 3.4- 3.7 GHz.
One of the key features of TIL-TEK's approach is flexibility and superior pattern suppression towards other co-channel beams. The design can accommodate top or side mounting, various levels of frequency reuse, independent choice of polarization for each beam and a customizable cell footprint, when integrated with the radio equipment, through independent power control.
The target market for this antenna is the fixed wireless access, wireless WAN/MAN and point-to-multipoint wireless networks.
The antenna provides improved system capacity, network performance and spectral efficiency.
