Wi-LAN Acquisition of Leading Antenna

Closed Deal Brings TIL-TEK Expertise Into
the Wi-LAN Fold to Support Wireless Network Implementations

Wi-LAN Inc. (TSE:WIN), an innovator of high-speed
wireless data and Internet communications, announced today that it has
closed the transaction to purchase TIL-TEK Antennas Inc. TIL-TEK, a leader
in the design and manufacture of high quality antenna products, will operate
as a wholly owned subsidiary of Wi-LAN.
Through this acquisition, Wi-LAN gains control of several U.S. and Canadian
antenna patents and research programs, as well as an ISO 9001 certified
manufacturing plant in Kemptville, Ontario and a joint venture involving
a manufacturing and distribution facility in Brazil. Wi-LAN plans to continue
TIL-TEK's operations out of Kemptville. In Calgary, Wi-LAN will work on
integrating antennas into the design of its I.WiLL(tm) System.
TIL-TEK brings an impressive list of customers that includes TRT Lucent
Technologies, LCC International, TELUS Mobility, SR Telecom, Rogers Wireless,
MTS Mobility/Manitoba Telephone Systems, Breezecom, and Waverider Communications
Inc.
TIL-TEK is a strong supplier in the lucrative PCS/cellular and Wireless
Local Loop markets. The acquisition provides both Wi-LAN and TIL-TEK with
increased access to large worldwide customers.

To complete the transaction, Wi-LAN issued shares of common stock to satisfy
the purchase price of $22.5 million Canadian.
